Why We Started ZEGO

At ZEGO, we know how difficult it is to find a healthy and tasty snack that meets everyone’s dietary needs. Our family was juggling Celiac Disease, lactose and gluten intolerances, food allergies, and low-glycemic diets. Then, our elementary school banned all nuts from campus. Suddenly 250 families had to accommodate their own dietary issues plus the need of the school.

As we searched for new snacks, we found there was no food company trying to make nutrient-dense convenience foods that meet the needs of people with more than one or two of the most common dietary restrictions. And, there was no company going the extra step in allergen and gluten safety–testing all their all its batches for cross contact providing the test data to consumers.

So, we decided to start our company to fill that need, ZEGO, “zest on the go!”  We carefully craft our recipes from delicious and nourishing ingredients and test every batch for cross contact as part of our Z-Code Food Safety System to provide you with worry-free snacks.

At ZEGO, our goal is to give you peace of mind.

We Support Better Nutrition For All

ZEGO was founded in part to provide long-term funding for the work of A Better Course, a nonprofit project that works to improve nutrition and food safety for low-income children. Part of every ZEGO purchase is donated to support this work each year. ZEGO has donated 2-10% of gross revenue to A Better Course each year since 2013.
